Nissan Simplifies EV Charging with New Network

Nissan has launched the NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network, streamlining the charging experience for ARIYA and future Nissan electric vehicle drivers in Canada. This new system integrates charging functions into the MyNISSAN app, allowing users to locate, check availability, and pay for charging at over 20,000 public stations nationwide.

The network includes partnerships with ChargeHub, Shell Recharge, and Tesla charging networks, with plans for further expansion. Users can store a default payment method in the app and initiate charging sessions with a single tap at compatible stations.

Enhanced Charging Options and Future Plans

Nissan is set to introduce a North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter for ARIYA drivers later this year, enabling access to Tesla Supercharger stations. By 2025, new Nissan EVs in Canada and the U.S. will come equipped with built-in NACS ports.

The ARIYA, Nissan's most advanced electric vehicle, offers an EPA-estimated range of up to 465 km with the Evolve+ FWD trim. Starting at CA$49,998 for the 2024 model year, it aims to appeal to a broader market. The ARIYA has also earned the 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for models with the 63-kWh battery.

This initiative aligns with Nissan's Arc mid-term business plan, which includes launching 16 new electrified models globally by the end of fiscal year 2026. The NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network represents a significant step towards simplifying EV ownership and enhancing the overall customer experience.

While the new network is currently not available for Nissan LEAF owners, who still rely on the NissanConnect EV and Services app for charging locations, it marks a notable advancement in Nissan's commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.
